Activylа такжеFrontline Plus are two of the leading topical treatments for fleas. We weigh up the benefits of each to help you choose the right one for your pet.
Both of these spot-on treatments provide month-long protection against fleas and help to control flea infestations. They work by killing fleas at all life stages: killing adult fleas before they can lay eggs, and preventing eggs and larvae from developing.
Frontline Plus also kills ticks, which can transmit deadly diseases, and controls lice and sarcoptic mange.
Activyl and Frontline Plus are both suitable for pets as young as 8 weeks old but have different weight requirements. If using Activyl your dog should weigh at least 4 lbs (1.8kg) and your cat must weigh 2lbs (0.9kg). Frontline Plus may be used on dogs over 4.4lbs (2kg) and cats over 1.5lbs (0.7kg) body weight.
Activyl spot-on should not be used on dogs or cats that are pregnant, nursing or intended for breeding.
